Healthcare tourism is booming in India and to address the issue Parvez Dewan, chairman and managing director, Indian Tourism Development Corporation asked corporate hospitals to act aggressively "to tap the outsourcing potential of an emerging technology to remote monitor patients who are under post-operative care." Through the advanced technology patients can be treated remotely (at their home) if they can not be admitted to the hospital due to lack of beds. Patients can avoid numbers of hospital trips as the technology device being made (being experimented successfully in US ) by Honeywell, Philips and Metronics "allows doctors to monitor effective use of drugs, potassium level in blood, fluid build-up in lungs, weight gain, diabetes and even mental illness."
All's fine, just wondering probably in the future you won't have smiling doctor sits by you and taking care of you by speaking to you, by spending some time with you.
