IBM earlier has developed web based English tutorials for its employees in India. Indians speak heavily accented English, they treat consonants harshly, occasionally use different grammar thus leading to frustration to those who make calls for troubleshooting, tech support or other customer service information.
With times, these tutorials, which were originally meant for call center employees were broadly accepted by different educational and business organizations. It seems everyone, irrespective of BPO dream or not, wants to impress Uncle Sam in his own local vocabs, idioms and phrasal verbs.
IBM should seriously think over creating a different business model for India.
