As if pink slips and wired services were not enough, hand in hand comes outsourcing (or offshoring ) of U.S print journalism jobs to India. A report prepared by The World Association of Newspapers found that outsourcing definitely plays an important role in the modern newspaper industries' head honcho's mind. In the study 350 newsrooms participated from Europe, Asia and United States. Very recently UK tabloid Daily Express chose to outsource its entire city business to a local press association.
News giant Reuter two decades ago has opened one center in Bangalore, India. From 360 employees then, Reuter has grown up to 1600 heads. The Columbus Dispatch (Ohio) and The Contra Costa Times (California) are also sending some designing jobs to India.
