Philippines President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on a recent trip to Hong Kong to allure investor interest stated that in 2001 barely 2,000 workers were a part of a business process outsourcing market in the country, but now, pleasantly the President remarks, it becomes 100 times bigger  and now boasts of a 2,00,000 workers. India may still be the flavor and favorite destination on the game, but when companies seek more cheap alternatives than India they prefer Philippines. The country due to its colonial history (for several decades the country was under American colonial rule,) more culturally inclined to US than may Asian countries.
