Marc Kramer in his write up does not want to buy the theory that outsourcing to countries like India and China is cheap and saves cost. For an assistant in conducting market research work the writer asks for a bid from one local person and one sales person who represents one India company. The local person quoted him $650 while the foreign company asks for $2000-$3000. The writer concludes that in the last 10 years the rates have not gone high. He suggests that before sending money to foreign land one should also consider local talents like housewife and retired people.
