
Diversified communication and giant media company, Hearst Corp. has signed a 15 year deal with Canadian leading printing brand Transcontinental Inc. For the seventh largest printer in North America this is the biggest outsourcing contract which is worth $1 billion. It will print Hearst Corp.'s San Francisco Chronicle newspaper daily and other related products. Luc Desjardins, CEO of Montreal-based Transcontinental said, "The project. . .is a major breakthrough for Transcontinental in the USA." A new plan will be set up in San Francisco Bay Area and the production is slated to be commencing in spring 2009.
