Otherwise a IT major, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) also wants to make some hay while the outsourcing sun shines. It has bagged a multi year outsourcing contract from the global pharmaceutical biggie Eli Lily. No financial detail of the contract is disclosed (its estimated to be in between $30-35 million) but it seems to be quite heavy as TCS intends to set up an exclusive medical information center in Noida, (near New Delhi) India as part of the agreement.
Under the contract TCS will cover many aspects of clinical trail data management which includes data clearing, data checking and data mining. It will also deliver services like bio-statistical analysis, medical writing, regulatory review for the pharma major.
