Airbus has denied the reports that it is outsource up to 50% of the work on its mid-sized A350 aircraft. Airbus chief Louis Gallois told Reuters that the outsourcing plan would go ahead only if it gets a nod from the parent company EADS. The rumor is doing the round that $2.4bn (1.8bn euros) of work could go to vendors. EADS however has not given Airbus its much desired approval to start work on the new airliner. Industry experts believe that the start-costs for the program would range between ten and twelve billion dollars. DaimlerChrysler, one of company's largest stake holders also backed out. Its obvious to cut costs and remain competitive the struggling airliner has no other way but to opt for outsourcing.
