After harping on blogs and website Govt of India now plans to cut down on BPOs’ and KPOs’ illegal use of internet telephony. It is creating a proposal wherein all the IT and ITes companies have to mandatorily furnish Internet telephony and bandwidth records with names and addresses of the authorized services providers. All the companies will have to give it in writing that they can not use unlicensed foreign service providers like Vonage, Net2Phone, Impetus, Dialpad, Novanet, Euros, Skype and Yahoo.
Department of Telecommunication (DoT) has revealed that call centers, BPOs, IT companies and other corporates use 30 MILLION minutes of internet telephony per month.
The government is also under pressure from authorized internet service providers (ISP) who has been gunning govt policies as small call centers are making a mockery of the regulatory issues.

vonage phones should be banned as people in India are making international phone calls with out paying tax to Indian Govt. As a result, there is big economic loss to India. Serious action need to be taken by the Govt immediately to stop this.
Indian.
