The world's largest call center company Convergys has bid for a major billing software and outsourcing contract with one of India's major mobile operators (is it Reliance which is coming out with 75 million GSM lines next year or Bharti??) The demand for billing software is peaking in the country as an enormous 176.8 million telecom bills being generated every month (136 million mobile bills and 40 million landline bills every month). What's more, on an average India adds more than 5.5 million subscribers on board. Convergys which employs more than 4,000 people in its R&D center across the globe has plans to move some of these services to India provided they get the telecom billing contract.
