
For Yahoo! China nothing is going right. Among the Chinese Internet users local biggie Baidu gets 62% users, Google holds 2nd spot with 25% consumer base and Yahoo! China is distant dismal third with only 5% users. But the story could have been different, Yahoo! The world leading brand has been co-founded by Jerry Yang, the local lad (born in Taiwan after his father moved from mainland China) though immensely popular there for its global status, but seems the super inspirational hero could not get along with his major executives. In 2005, Yahoo thought of outsourcing and teamed up with local biggie Alibaba, but the move didn’t do well, directionless Yahoo! China tired to do a clean homepage like Google, which also didn’t yield much, so it came back to its earlier traditional portal like design. Consistent poor performance now fuelling tension between senior managers, you can expect some heavyweights’ company leaving news very soon.
