
Information technology company Affiliated Computer Services Inc.(ACS) has bagged an $87.3 million outsourcing contract to administer Florida's Child Health Insurance Program. For the next five years, ACS will develop and deliver IT services for Florida KidCare. Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP) like Florida KidCare deliver comprehensive health care coverage to children who are not eligible for Medicare, covering visits to doctors, dentist checkups, immunizations and hospital trips, as well as prescription drugs. Under the contract ACS will process applications for eligibility, will collect premiums from members who are eligible, enroll members to specific health programs and also will operate a call center to help those who are participating in the program. If all goes well Florida Healthy Kids Corp. will extend the contract for another five years.
