In his first ever visit to New York, Ambassador Willy C. Gaa seems upbeat with the prospect of Philippines companies' performance matrix on outsourcing and over all health of the country's economic prospect.

 

In a private briefing hosted by Citigroup for members of the Philippine-American Chamber of Commerce, one of the oldest bilateral business organizations in the U.S. Gaa said that with ever increasing power of peso (the country's currency) and record increased remittances from overseas workers have created a strong image of the country. In the meeting the Chamber's President, Philippine Long Distance Telephone executive Butch Meily has announced a new committee called 'BPO Council' which like NASSCOM of India will raise the image of the country as a favorite outsourcing destination in US, Europe and Australia.
