Call Centers: How to be your boss’s favorite

In call centers everything is in large scale, thousands are coming, hundreds are leaving, dozens of process, so many call center customer service agents doing the same work day after day (or should I say night after night) and everyone trying their best to be in their boss’s favorite book, everyone wants to be boss’s favorite. Its difficult.

Even you constantly suck to your boss or try to be their best buddy, bosses are intelligent, they know who is what, after all bosses before becoming bosses used to be like you only.

To become the most important person, the glittering star of your team, read on, these topics, if implemented properly will help you to the core.

1.    Be part of solution, not problem: Mostly employees hit their bosses with millions of problems. Bosses themselves are immersed in problems. Talk to yourself, try to find out a solution, if the PC is not working, talk to the hardware guy in stead of writing a mail to the boss and then not delivering rest of the day on the pretext of software failure.

2.    Never blindly apologize:
A lot of things can go wrong despite you want them to go right. Sometimes you also find yourself on the wrong foot. On those occasions never apologize instantly. Bosses don’t like weak employees. In stead say, yes, this is why it happened, if I/we had handled it that way, I/we could have avoided it.

3.    Go beyond your prescribed duty:
Well, I am not saying helping your boss in buying week’s grocery on weekends, but believe me lot of people do that. LOL. On a serious note, my suggestion to you is be proactive and don’t hesitate to go ahead and take additional responsibility for the team’s interest.
