Co-operative Financial Services (CFS) is all set to sign up a major outsourcing deal which will double its external IT development staff from the present size. The deal with Co-operative Insurance Services will take place in mid-January. Co-operative Group chief information officer Gerry Pennell says, “The rebuilding is going to involve a much higher outsourcing component and we are in negotiations at the moment.” According to him the main motivation is speedy access to increased capability.
In the volatile and loyalty less outsourcing world when deals get broken lightening fast CFS has been servicing technology giant Xansa since 1994. That surely speaks volume about the kind of effort it gives to its projects and people. The Xansa-CFS deal since 1994 has been renewed twice and is still going strong.
