AT Kearney's study says that India has become the second most preferred destinations for clinical trials amongst pharmaceutical companies. China tops the while Russia holds the third position. The study which has been conducted across 15 countries found that though India raked in poor marks in the areas like infrastructure, strong hospital network but it earned bundle of good points in its large and somewhat naïve patient population and cost advantage. The first advantage helps lessen lead time for patient recruitment by good 30-40 %. The second one, that is cost factor, companies can actually save 40-60% cost in sending clinical trial works to India.
