For foreign publishers outsourcing to India has dual advantage. One, they get the job done at the fraction of the cost. And two, many American and European publishers has realized the fact that (as if they have awaken to the fact) there is a big market out there. Now for them it has become imperative to have a shiny office premised in the country. Jack Romanos, President & CEO of Simon & Schuster says, "India is one of the fastest growing English language markets and a world class economic dynamo with a highly literate populace. It shows the relevance of India in the eyes of all international publishers." Publishers are coming out with newer India specific versions along with tried and tested ones. Market is growing no doubt, both in terms of the number of titles being published each year and readership, the market is expanding big.
Some feel that, by establishing a center in India, they can also selling their title throughout Asia.
