
Hawaii's schoolchildren may not be able to gulp anymore locally processed milk which they have been for years. The state officials are considering outsourcing the school milk contract to Mainland providers. Surely a bolt from the blue not only to the local milk provider Meadow Gold Dairies but also to the entire milk industry of the state. Meadow Gold Dairies was ruled against the 'preferential treatment.' To fill up the caveat Honolulu-based Cornerstone Dairy Distributors has been chipped in. The decision of importing is however raising concerns about milk freshness and milk security. The state department hopes to complete the procedure by July.
