
In a letter to the Indiana University, The Monroe County Council's all the seven members unanimously vehemently opposed the university's proposed outsourcing plan. Currently in consideration for outsourcing are both the university's motor pool and the bookstore which the authorities plan to serve as experiments when considering contracting other University Services for future.
The letter from the Country Council states that outsourcing of jobs that have helped the Monroe County economy exponentially can destroy the harmony that exists between the University and "life beyond the Sample Gates."
Michael Woods, president of Monroe County Council feels that though there is no there have been no formal announcements but he expects that the overall pay and other benefits will be decreased.
