
Leaving behind its Brooklyn drug manufacturing factory Pfizer is all geared up to deliver plethora of outsourcing opportunity for contract manufacturing organisations (CMOs) in low-cost destinations by cutting at least 10,000 jobs. Pfizer with the rightsizing and consolidation (outsourcing that is) program expects to save up to $2 billion a year. If the long run business strategy signifies any indication, this may be regarded only as tip of the iceberg, the new CEO of the pharmaceutical major, Jeff Kindler says, is (only) part of a wider plan to “transform” the way Pfizer does business. It seems the big bosses of the drug major are not happy with the raised tax plans in Michigan among other things.
