London-based fast moving consumer goods king The Unilever Group plans to bypass some of its IT infrastructure operations to Hewlett-Packard Co. It seems last year's agreement with Accenture Ltd. has brought good results for Unilever. In late 2005 Unilever has made a pact with IBM also on outsourcing. While interacting with media persons Unilever CIO Neil Cameron said, "This potential agreement would be a natural extension of our current relationship. The intention between both parties is to leverage HP's scale, expertise and industry leadership to ensure Unilever has access to world-class technology at substantially lower costs."
Unilever employs more than 206,000 people worldwide and has presence in most of the countries in Europe, Latin America and Asia.
