IANS reports that export from India’s software and information technology enabled services will touch $60 billion by 2010. The study moreover claims that every rupee (Unit of Indian currency, 44 rupees=$1) invested in the ITES industry will translate into one additional rupee output. National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom), India’s IT and ITES industry body says for each direct job created in IT and Software will create four more jobs indirectly. The study foresees that from this year’s $31 billion, IT and ITES industry will cross $60 billion mark by 2010. Presently the sectors employ eight million people. The number may grow up to 11.5 million by 2010.
