Technology Partners International Inc, a research and consulting firm reports that though the number of outsourcing contracts rose to a record in 2006, the cash value of all the deal has scored less than $80 billion, first time since 2002. More contracts but with lesser value. There were actually 208 smaller contracts valued at $25 million. Most of them were single contracts and obviously do not include high end outsourcing work like information technology or human resource consulting. Mostly the processes are document management, financial services and procurement and likes. The study interestingly finds that credit card processing amongst others experienced maximum increment.
