
Choosing specialized IT providers than one big conglomerate seems to have become a norm. Siding global heavyweights like IBM and Accenture outsourcers like Kimberly Clark (a health and hygiene company) and ABN Amro (Banking) have chosen multi vendor teams for their projects. Both the companies by strengthening the multi-vendor model has asked TCS, Infosys and Patni along with EDS, IBM and Accenture. In the ABN-Amro deal, the entire application outsourcing has been distributed amongst IBM, Accenture, TCS, Infosys and Patni. The better pie of the deal worth $1.8 billion went to EDS.
With the Kimberly Clark deal
Cognizant won the Applications part of the deal, Genpact won the Finance and Accounting part of BPO (business process outsourcing), TCS the Infrastructure Services and Accenture the HR outsourcing slice.
