Not all outsourcing contract goes happy happy extended, some come to an abrupt end so what the involvement was with of one of the big names in the industry. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission has scrapped an outsourcing contract with Accenture. Accenture it seems could not reach a satisfactory quality level benchmark with the contract which it won over in June 2005. The deal covered
call center operations, children’s health insurance processing and eligibility determination, maintenance of the integrated eligibility computer system and enrollment broker services. Initially valued at $899 million when awarded, the contract was revalued at $543 million in December.
The official reason shown is lack of compatibility on implementing a rebalancing of the contract. Last year there was much hullabaloo when the contract went over budget notwithstanding the alleged poor performance from the state officials. Mostly health and human services eligibility services are coming back.
