
Deutsche Telekom has registered a loss of $1.2 billion, mostly resulted by the charges related to the ongoing program to cut jobs. The owner of T-Mobile may have scored €991 million profit, last year or for that matter clinched an outsourcing deal with Centrica, may have plans to expand mobile businesses, but this welcome shock must have made new CEO of the company René Obermann a dam tense person. The situation worsens more when despite getting most of the board members’ consent the move to outsource 45,000 employees to lower paying subsidiaries gets a red signal from the employee union. Investors are scared and shying away. Picture may get clear when Mr Obermann will explain his new strategy to the public today.
