
This year has seen a noteworthy hike in information technology budget in the field of trading and/or brokerage, asset management, hedge funds and other investments, securities services sectors, confirmed a report by Datamonitor research. The study finds out that to meet with difficult objectives, streamline the processes and remain competitive edge increasingly financial service companies are tuning in to technology.
Presently only a handful of firms are fully exploiting the capabilities of comprehensive information technology deployment. However, regulations like Reg NMS and MiFID, which support the utility for best execution, Datamonitor in its survey has predicted that a strong uptake of electronic trading is in the offing in 2007.
