
$10 billion dream seems a bit too stretched but certainly an industry body like Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) specifically created for outsourcing does help. A dedicated specific industry body helps because it addresses the issues with immediate effect and also facilitates a country becoming a brand. Look at India, NASSCOM, an outsourcing body from India from time to time dishes out rosy feel good predictions, but it’s a fact that they do addresses the outsourcing related issues in volatile US and European market with good effect.
As for now according to this news report Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has couple of projects in pipeline. One with Hudson Consulting Group and the other with Tathya Dot Com from India. Hudson is a good name but as far Tathya goes I doubt if it belongs to the blue league of companies. Is it merely a vendor, which will keep on passing spilled over work from shores of India to Nigeria? I really don’t know. It started its ITES operation in 2004. May be they have some real big clients up their sleeves. You never know.
