
Well, not all outsourcing work is going to India, China or Eastern European countries. The bioscience industry in Ohio is expected to generate thousands of new jobs. Not core research and development core functions, but other non-core works which has been coming in to the city’s small and mid sized companies who are not considered as hardcore drug companies. Last year Proctor & Gamble shed its drug discovery business and cut 300 jobs. Since the process goes external Ohio companies got benefited from it.
Pharmaceutical outsourcing was the topic of discussion at the event "BioPharma in Ohio II: Positioning Ohio as a Pipeline State," which was held in downtown Columbus.
