What will go in their favor, for the next 2 and half years, that is till 2010 they will be protected against a premature dismissal
Ver.di the trade union rejected the offer outright, Deutsche Telekom then gave ultimatum to sell off its part of its business.

Deutsche Telekom AG has amended its proposal to trade union ver.di in a bid to reach an agreement over plans to outsource 50,000 jobs, extend working hours and lower entry-level wages, sources said.
The German telecommunications giant has agreed to cut the number of additional hours of work without extra pay it is demanding by 100 hours a year, they said.
The company also agreed to consider setting up long-term flexi-time accounts for its employees, they said.
