Ever rising security demands for online applications like e-commerce and web services are binding more corporate customers to let go security functions like intrusion detection and firewalls to third party outsourcing providers. It is understood that the third-party (outsourcing) security service providers can also add value by supplementing an internal security strategy by putting in order reports that have been required by many a new government regulations.
Thus being created the obvious (and inevitable) trend towards mass (ive) outsourcing security functions. The trend actually took a fly during the Internet boom, and now after all the eventful years is slowly upping again as firms are fast realizing that outsourcing of every day security activities actually powers them to concentrate on internal security in a more comprehensive way while deploying the same resource. Certain, sniffy companies though still are reluctant to go outsource and prefer to keep insightful (and critical and case sensitive) IT functions in-house.
