
This alarming prediction comes from a UK based research firm Consultant Technologies Ltd. Though analysts and industry experts feel that low level low skilled IT work and some high end work which will be enrooted to India, China and Eastern Europe demand for highly and widely skilled IT contractors who will broadly work on high end projects will remain same if not better. Previous years have seen hardware maintenance IT work and application development tasks mostly being hit due to offshoring trend.
1. Last month Prudential has decided to cut 520 IT jobs as part of its £80 million plan to outsourcing.
2. Vodafone also is making 120 IT workers redundant.
3. Threshers has signed a five year £8 million outsourcing contract with Xansa
