Market research firm, In-Stat has stated that the Asian contract electronics manufacturing market is poised to grow more than double from $121.5 billion in 2006 to $281.8 billion in 2011. Now that’s damn happy news for people who work for small-scale industries in countries like China, Taiwan who produce the bulk of such stuff.
In-Stat says that Asia will alone take 55.1% of the global electronics manufacturing services (EMS) market. This is up from 45% in 2006.
China is undisputed king of EMS market. China conservatively accounts for nearly 76% of the Asian EMS market. It also expected to take control of 80% of original design manufacturing (ODM) market in 2011. The report says that a lot of outsourcing will happen between various Asian countries like China, India, Thailand, Vietnam and notwithstanding China’s dominance in the EMS/ODM market other countries will also enjoy good pie of the market.
