Well, there were awards for everything. And now we have awards on 'best outsourcing contract.' Ha.
HP and Bank of India who are bounded by an outsourcing contract (very new and very happy like a newly wed just over with extended honeymoon) have won IT outsourcing award under Best IT Infrastructure category of the Outsourcing Center's Outsourcing Excellence Awards. Next time we will have a award functions on who is more happy with the relationship, golden jubilee award, silver jubilee award, most promising outsourcing duo, most daring outsourcing people (the parties who constantly fight but cannot live without each other) etc.
Anyway, no more rants, get back to business, HP is managing Bank of India's entire IT infrastructure which includes core banking solution, data warehousing and document imaging for approximately 1,000 branches spread across the country. HP will also maintain the bank's call centre, data centre, disaster recovery facilities and help desk. So sweet
Ok, you want to know now why the duo won the prize? Read on
Beth Ellyn Rosenthal, the editor of Outsourcing Center, said: "Bank of India and HP won because their relationship is a perfect example of how companies should work together...instead of pointing fingers whenever challenges arise, they worked through them with mutual respect, trust, and open communication".
Som Mittal, the senior vice president of HP Services' technology solutions Asia Pacific arm, added: "The relationship between Bank of India and HP is one of the largest IT outsourcing engagements in India and in the financial services industry in Asia Pacific."
Relationship, you see.
If it goes sour, you wont be able to score.
