The electronics industry with the strength of its ever-increasing outsourcing work being sent to low cost countries is poised to increase sharply. India will get a good pie of it, however, it will remain much way behind China.
This study conducted by Technology Forecasters, a California-based consultancy says that by 2010 more than one quarter of all the manufacturing work mainly pertaining to electronic industry will be sent to specialist contractors who will mostly operate from low-wage economies.
India, as per the study is likely to be one of the biggest gainers of the trend. It may garner 10 per cent of the total outsourced manufacturing deals by 2010. It was two percent in 2005.
