Future Group from Kolkata, India which owns Pantaloon Retail Ltd. is considering to revamp its entire information technology infrastructure. It has short listed couple of Information technology firms, Cisco Systems and IBM Corp. While Cisco has niche in delivering wireless solution, IBM has carved its fame in developing applications and design systems architecture.
I wonder though, where are Infosys, TCS, Wipro and Satyam. Didn't they bid for the project. Or are Indian software and technology companies are losing out in their own land to global biggies. If you remember in the recent past IBM has bagged some big contracts on Indian ground.
