
Workers of a Scottish financial The Capita Group were upset after the news was out that Capita has signed an outsourcing deal with Resolution Plc. Capita will also transfer staff as part of the deal which many believe is temporary and the work will ultimately be outsourced to India.
Resolution now which has become the strategic outsourcing partner of The Capita Group is one of the biggest employers in Glasgow's growing financial sector.
The outsourcing contract includes plans to outsource a substantial amount (the actual amount of job loss is not disclosed to the media) of back office work of Resolution's India office. But it is estimated that close to 500 jobs will be outsourced.
Union leaders are upset and expressed anguish.
