
If you wonder if multinationals get required talents in China which sends its best students overseas each year. It is believed that one fourth of foreign Ph.D. candidates in the US are Chinese. But the country is also luring back its best talents, in the last few years 170,000 Chinese after studying and getting significant work experience in US have returned, 30,000 of them returned alone in the last year.
Forbes reports,
the country's R&D is getting a keener edge. China has just passed Germany to stand fifth in international new-patent rankings. Last year China spent more than Japan on R&D for the first time, according to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. Only the U.S. spends more. In the last decade, R&D has more than doubled as a share of China's gross domestic product.
