Before you start reading this piece I would like to request you to have a look at here and here where I have discussed graveyard shifts, health hazards and repercussions of lack of sleep on call center agents.
But, call center is not the only industry where people work in night shifts, there are doctors, people who work in hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, service sectors, manufacturing firms, oil fields, military etc are also taking night shifts on their strides. How do they do that? One possible reason would be most of them don’t have to slog in nights for years. They get promoted, shifted, transferred, but some people still learn the tricks to work throughout night.

I have a friend who is a model and earns lot by walking on ramps. She told me her ramp shows and shootings sometimes fall on later part of night or very early morning. She loves to sleep like a dog but on those days her sleep routines are crushed in parts. So, she tries to catch two to three catnaps during the day.
I know for call center agents its near to impossible to catch a nap at the cab.
In the next post I will discuss a rescue mission for call centers agents and how they can cope up with dreaded fearful graveyard shifts with ease. I hope it helps them.
