After Unisys, Linklaters has completed its second outsourcing deal of the season. This is going to be a five-year multi million pound dollar deal (what does this mean, it means the exact value of the deal is not disclosed) with IT service provider, SAVVIS. The firm has been chosen over its competitors as it has been satisfactorily servicing clients like Allen & Overy (A&O) and Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw. The rumor is however on the roll that it wont less than £6 to £6.5 million pounds.
SAVVIS will take care of Linklaters’ finance, knowledge and document management systems, web and email applications plus will provide archiving facilities.
Why did Linklaters go for outsourcing? Two reasons, saving of costs and human resources.
The firm has grown exponentially over last few years in both the power and space available internally. Its data centers cost it around £1,200 per sq ft to build and with higher energy costs, it must have gone well with the logic, to outsource, which is cheaper.
