After coming out from its teething problems, outsourcing is gradually becoming more specialized and competitive. Now its time clients look over the first mover countries, more and more countries are getting into the fray. Big organizations have lost out many contracts to small and specialized shops.
What it means, for the clients lays more opportunities to bargain and cut costs.
David Skinner has been observing the changing trends of outsourcing for quite some time now. He notes,
Multi-sourcing has now become the favored sourcing strategy. Rather than risking whole business lines with a single service provider, shorter duration and smaller value transactions allow customers to spread operational risk and develop new relationships. Customers have realized that it is not realistic for one service provider to be good at everything, and concentrating on 'best of breed' is more likely to deliver value.
