
Indian newspaper Business Line reports that to expand its operational base significantly in China and also to serve its existing domestic and international clients there Wipro BPO is planning to set up local deliver centers in the heartland. If things go planned (as in getting necessary clearances from the government notwithstanding the red tap culture that exists there) the operations will commence in the current quarter itself. Wipro plans to rope in 300 employees in two rounds. ![]()
This quarter, Wipro has shown some good result, though rising rupee against dollar remains as one of the hot discussions in the stock market. Wipro finished the quarter with 16.95% increased consolidated net profit. Total income on consolidated basis has increased by 33.75%.
