DaimlerChrysler AG is considering outsourcing production of transmissions for the upcoming generations of its A-class, B-class and C-class models to cut costs, Auto Motor und Sport reported, citing company sources. As a result, the German carmaker could close its site in Zuffenhausen, Germany, which employs 550 workers, it said.
