That’s not the one, there have many violent cases been registered in the police station not only in Bangalore, but across India. Since, shift timing of call center workers normally past midnights, they fall prey to such violent crime.
Some technology, it seems, now give call center workers some safety. Indiatimes reports,
A new security device has been developed which takes the security network for employees from the office right up to the vehicle that they board.
Besides identifying the employees, associates and driver of the van, the device can also disable the vehicle in case of an emergency.
In 2005, a woman BPO employee in Bangalore was molested and killed by her driver who faked his identity. However, with the new system, executives enter and leave the cab after flashing the contact less access card at the card reader installed in the vehicle.
As soon as they get in, the central control unit at the headquarters gets detailed data and starts tracking down the vehicle.
