The Election Commission of India has at last decided that it will not outsource (thank God, imagine the proces difficulties people will have to suffer there) the preparation of electoral rolls because of security reasons. The commission believes that anti social beings will tamper the voting process. It is believed that better accuracy in the electoral process can be maintained if each voter has a unique number and card. But it seems dificult because home minstry is yet to issue a national identity card for the matter.
Speaking at the Foreign Services Institute here, the election comission spokesperson said that there would be 'half a chance' of 'interested parties' tampering with the rolls if the work was outsourced.
