
Energy retailing heavyweight AGL Energy seems to be on a plan to win back its 90,000 gas and electricity customers that it has lost during the past year. The energy generator which has just signed an outsourcing agreeemnt with TCS believes that it will be boost earnings by finishing this fiscal year with 48,000 more customers. Was it a tough year for the company? Chief executive Paul Anthony had told investors so.
The AUD $16 outsourcing contract with TCS will enable AGL’s strategy of moving out from internal IT to a full fledged outsourced solution. It will also levearge the implementation of AGL's biggest IT change program. The IT programme is estimated to save approximately $60 million a year. The savings will start showing after the new retail solution gets fully implemented.
