No question asked, on business might, America enjoys awesome advantage over European countries. America is a gigantic single market, with comparatively young and growing population, a large chunk of which has been exported from across the world. America is world's economic (and cultural) superpower. And whats more, productivity wise, delivers much more than Europe on average. On average, as in, if you compare last ten year's data, last year America's performance matrix was dismal, hopefully will spruce up now as Fed rate has gone down.
America's universities are also better, not just because of their PR skills, but the quality of student they get is awesome, and most importantly these universities work hand in glove with business. That's a positional advantage European universities will never be able to match.
Since 2001, America's economic growth was averaging a 2.5% a year compared to Europe's 1.5%.
