Bill Belichick, the Patriot coach has been charged for spying on opposite coaches. I am sure opposition coaches will feel good about this, why? Because they are important, they are better, superior and thats why being spied on by Mr. Belichick ....ok....lets get serious...spying on sports also got its second story almost in the same time when team McLaren was convicted for Formula One spying controversy.
The International Automobile Federation (FIA) announced after a hearing in Paris on Thursday that McLaren would lose all their constructors' points for the 2007 season and also incur a $100 million fine for having Ferrari data in their possession. (Source)
I think in sports the penalties are more severe and fast than corporate world. Spying is name of the game in outsourcing world. Be it in the field of human resource (why poaching is so rampant? How headhunters crack the most
sought after talent database bank? No high tech stuff, only strategical personal relations and effective spying) or top level executives (Why one CEO is more important than two thousand software engineers, because he has the list of data and connections that can so easily build a brand new competitor company overnight). Forget business ethics, companies in fact appoint 'senior experienced business analysts' in the name of ethical spying, more unethical is merrier.
