There is an old proverb in West Indies, those who feel the need, come out with the answer...or should we say in present day format...innovation. DayJet, a new first on-demand airline service for business traveler, is founded by Ed Iacobucci who is former chairman of Critix Systems, one of world's top software groups. Going by the proverb, broadly, it's software community which felt that there is a market for this kind of service where on shortest of notice executives have to fly from one country to another. The service, however, will start commercial operations in Florida by the end of this month.
Remember, its meant for business executives, its got to be beyond middle class.
Flying ultra small but luxurious Eclipse 500 aircraft that fly 425 MPH, the three-seater crafts are meant for the business traveller on mid-range, regional hops. According to the DayJet website, the “interior is about the size of a mini-van, with the comfort and design of a luxury auto…without the rush hour traffic”. Source
