Indian hockey players must have felt bad. So bad that they have realized in true sense that these celebrities are fake. Shah Rukh Khan before and immediately after the film Chak De is released, gave all politically correct statements to the quote hungry media men about how the sport is neglected, how everyone should come forward for the improvement of the game in village level and so on.
Shah Rukh who was always an epitome of commercialization (remember how he famously said he would never endorse liquor products because its harmful for the younger generation and he can not go that low for money like other stars (read: Akshay Kumar), well, SRK these days is seen promoting a liquor brand, but I am sure if he can defend his dancing on marriage for money, he can also give justification to his liquor...sorry...mineral water advertisement)...ok....where was I...yes....SRK who was always blamed by the intellectual segment like editors, serious issue based journalists etc now saw that King Khan is actually through his latest film trying to serve the underprivileged. So, his effort of making Chak De got premium analytical coverage on media...on editorial pages (being a Yash Raj product also helps) along with dose of pop-patriotism ahead of independence day.
Shahrukh had to make movie on hockey in anyway, ask why...
1.He can not make a movie on Cricket. Lagan was already been made and he certainly does not want to be called as someone who copies Aamir Khan after Bachchan.
2.Can not act in a football movie either...he has too skinny pair of legs. So, lets go balle balle on Hockey, splash zingo patriotism, release before independence day, got loads of sympathy, hit hard on those whispers about his Indianness, make it women centric (another politically correct issue...
(conversation snippet amongst ladies....OMG...u know....no heroine in the movie...really???...is that so...tell tell...he is so cute...mmmmmm....no rain and dance in neo Yash Chopra...what??..yes yes...Shah Rukh is genius...i must tell you that)
Hockey fraternity must have thought now that they have got support from Shah Rukh, now that he is their saviot things will change. The movie had ample janta type anti cricket dialogs (For example: Hockey mein chakkey nahi hotey). Can SRK really dedicate his at least some days for the development of the game across India including interior villages? Hahaha.
Chak De is over now....the film is a hit...producer got his money back...SRK reaffirmed his position in the industry after giving some flops...now he is more serious about shedding his uncle image and getting his six pack ready for his next release Om Shanti Om.
Forget development of hockey, he does not event reply to the calls made by one Mir Ranjan Negi. The man whom Shah Rukh portrayed in Chak De and given enough 'developmental and inspirational' sound byte to the media about the man. Ranjan Negi told press, “I understand, now that the project is over, he will have new friends now.”
Last in designer attire, Shahrukh was seen encouraging, no...not the Hockey team of India but Indian Cricket Team. India lose or win..the match was in anyway a win win situation for him...read why. If Shahrukh was genuine he would have made a visit to the final match of Doha Asian Games Championship between India and South Korea which India won by 7-2.
Ask him, King Khan has a politically correct answer ready for you.

I have never seen such a shrewd, clever, opportunistic person like Shahrukh Khan is,The self proclaimed king of Bollywood who doesn't know how to act? but knows all tactics to get success and Money.
He used hockey to get his movie hit and cursed cricket in the movie and once the movie became hit he realised that he might have to do some comercials with cricketers and hence went to see the cricket match I won't call it a world-cup since cricket is the only sport which has 4 world cups.
It would had been nice if Sunny deol had lost his cool on the sets of "Darr" when SRK did chamchagiri of director to get favour! everybody knows what would had happened if Sunny had lost cool!!!!
